Dayton, O. — James C. Reber and Charles H. Ware, it is stated, have been appointed as a committee by the County Commissioners to investigate the erecting of a $250, 000 Memorial Hall.
Architect F. B. Heathman, Davies Building, has completed plans for the $100, 000 four-story Masonic Temple to be erected here.
Denver, Colo. — A four-story bachelor apartment is to be erected here at a cost of $70, 000, It will be built of brick and stone. F. E. Edbrooke, 510 Opera House Building, is architect.
Detroit, Mich. — Alex. Y. Malcomson, it is reported, is preparing to erect a $350, 000 building on Rowland and State Streets.
East Orange, N. J. — An apartment house is to be erected on Main Street, at an estimated cost of $100, 000. It is to be a five-story brick and stone building, 70 × 90 feet.
El Reno, Okla. — The C. P. Moore Company, of Huntington, W. Va., and East Liverpool, Ohio, has purchased III acres of land, on which it will locate a plant for the manufacture of fine pottery. Cost, $200, 000.
Fort Smith, Ark. — The Fort Smith Lodge of Elks, it is reported, has decided to erect a lodge and office building on their lot on North Sixth Street.
Fort Worth, Tex. — Reports state that Bacon Saunders has awarded contract to Buchanan & Gilder for the erection of his proposed office and store building; structure to be seven stories high, triangular in shape; stone and brick; cost, $100, 000.
Franklin, La. — It is reported that plans lave been completed for a $115, 000 courthouse to be erected in St. Mary’s parish.
Franklin, Mass. — Mrs. Annie R. hayer, it is stated, intends erecting a twostory brick building, to cost $60, 000, to be given to the town.
Greenwich, Conn. — Reports state that William G. Rockefeller, 26 Broadway, Manhattan, will erect a $500, 000 residence for his son, Percy Rockefeller, on his property at Greenwich.
Greenville, S. C. — We are advised that ground will soon be broken for a new $225, 000 tourist hotel here, which will be one
of the finest between Atlanta and Washington.
Guelph, Ont., Can. — David Booth, of Bockville, has been awarded the contract for the erection of the armory at Guelph, at a cost of $70, 000.
Guthrie, Okla. — The Board of County Commissioners has ordered the county attorney to draw up the necessary papers looking to the advertising for bids for plans and contract for the construction of a County Court-house, to cost $100, 000.
Hagerstown, Md. — H. E. Yessler, architect, of York, Pa., is preparing plans for a new High School Building, to be erected here at a cost of $75, 000. It is to be a twostory brick and stone building, 85x200 feet.
Hammond, Ind. — It is reported that the Woman’s Relief Corps is contemplating the erection of a $40, 000 Armory.
High Point, N. C. — Wheeler, Runge and Dickey, Charlotte, N. C., have in hands plans for an $80, 000 building for a handsome office structure, to be erected here by W. J. and E. M. Armfield, and associates.
Holyoke, Mass. — Architect John William Donohue, of Springfield, has completed plans for a Novitiate and Mother House for the Sisters of Providence, Holyoke. There will be a group of four buildings connected by cloisters. The buildings will be of gray face brick, with light sandstone trim, of fireproof construction, floors, roofs and stairs of reinforced concrete, with terrazzo finish. The building will cost in the neighborhood of $125, 000.
Houston, Tex. — Sanguinet Staats & Sueter, of Dallas, it is stated, have been engaged to prepare plans for the Y. M. C. A. building, to be erected at McKinney avenue and Fannin Street, at a cost of $200, 000.
Rabbi Bernstein, of the Beth Israel congregation, will give information as to the proposed $50, 000 synagogue to be erected:
Huntington, W. Va. — Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad Company, C. E. Powell. Supervisor of Bridges and Buildings, Hinton, W. Va., is reported as making arrangements to begin at once the erection of the proposed passenger station, to cost $200, 000.
Jamaica, N. Y. — It is stated that a club
house is to be erected at Laurelton, a suburb of Jamaica, at a cost of $50, 000. Plans have been prepared by Kirby, Petit & Green, 21 W. Thirty-fourth Street, New York City.
Jersey City, N. J. — Edward Riedler & Co. are to erect an apartment house at Bright and Varick Streets. It is to be a five-story brick and stone building, and will cost approximately $65, 000. Edward M. Patterson is architect.
We are advised that the Stayman Manufacturing Company, of Jersey City, New Jersey, has just awarded to the Underwriters’ Engineering and Construction Company, 1170 Broadway, New York, a contract for the construction of a large machine and forge shop. The buildings throughout will be constructed of reinforced concrete.
Johnstown, Pa. — The contract for the erection of a new four-story building for P. S. Fisher on Clinton and Main streets, has been awarded to Cramp & Co. The building is to cost $70, 000.
Joliet, ILL. — Architect Frederick Lindquist is preparing plans for a private prison to be built here for the occupancy of Louis Gourdain and attendants. It will be three stories, 30x60 feet, of fireproof construction, and cost $100, 000.
Kansas City, Mo. — Swedish Lutheran Hospital Association, Rev. Albert W. Lindquist, President, 1334 East Eighth Street, is planning the construction of hospital to cost $100, 000.
