Painted on panels, size, 8 in. by 5 1/2 in. in each case

One of the portraits is signed with the Winged Dragon, and is dated 1532

The portraits are in fine condition, and are of attractive colouring, the background being green in both cases. The writing underneath each painting is on paper laid

down on the panel, and is contemporary with the pictures.

The portraits come from the collection of Robert Napier, of Glasgow, who was a

well-known connoisseur, and whose pictures were dispersed in 1877.
