Contracts have not been let for F. J. Fadner’s apartment building, to be built at Stewart Ave. and 77th St. Architect W. G. Krieg, 84 Washington St., has completed designs which call for 3-story building, 125 x 135 feet.
Architect William F. Gubbins has prepared plans for the Presentation Roman Catholic Church, of which Rev. Jennings is rector. It will be built at Polk St. and Springfield Ave. It will be in the Spanish- Romanesque style of architecture, 2 stories high, 80 x 145 feet.
Plans have been completed and bids are asked by Z. T. Davis, 1343 Unity bldg., for the construction of a 5-story mill construction warehouse in the Union Stock Yards. The new building will be 150 x 200 ft.
We are advised that plans are nearing completion for. an apartment house at Leland and Winthrop Aves. for J. S. Holmes, 112 Dearborn St. James Burns, 112 Clark St., is architect.
It is reported that the late contribution of $352,000 to the building fund of the Presbyterian Hospital, of this city, makes it possible to erect the proposed additional buildings.
It is reported that J. K. Sebree, proprietor of the Saratoga Hotel, is planning to erect a new hotel on Dearborn St. The cost of the proposed building is estimated at over $1,000,000.
Cincinnati, O.—The Sinton Hotel is to have a $160,000 power-plant, which will provide light,, heat, ventilation, refrigeration and filtration.
City or Mexico.—New cavalry barracks are to be erected by the War Department, at an estimated cost of $500,000 to $600,000.
Cleveland, O.—The United Merchants’
Realty and Improvement Company, of New York, is having plans prepared for the erection here of a 16-story hotel.
It is reported that plans are on foot for the erection of a large union depot in this city, estimated to cost $2,500,000.
Columbus, O.—It is reported that Charles Lane, of the Central Lumber Co., is interested in the erection of a $300,000 theatre on Broad St.
It is stated that an appropriation of $500,- 000 has been asked for the proposed postoffice building here.
Connellsville, Pa.—Joseph Soisson has under consideration the erection of a theatre on Main St. The estimated cost is about $50,000.
Dallas, Tex.—Louis Lipschitz, of Tyler, Tex., has commissioned Sanguinet, Staats & Hill to prepare plans for a 5-story building, 65 x 200 ft., to be erected at a cost of $100,000.
Reports state that arrangements are being completed by the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, J. F. Hinckley, St. Louis, Mo., chief engineer, and other roads entering- Dallas for the erection . of proposed union depot.
It is reported that Dr. J. G. Mills, of Marlin, Tex., has purchased property in North Dallas on which is located the Gill mineral well, and arrangements will be made at once for the establishment of health resort. A three-story sanitarium, 150 x- 50 ft. and a bathhouse, 75 x 150 ft., will be erected.
Dayton, O.—Bids will be received until March 1 for the $350,000 Y. M. C. A. building. Burns, Peters & Pretzinger, architects, Kuhns bldg.
Deadwood. S. D.—It is reported that J. C, Burrichter will erect a new theatre here at a cost of $60,000.
Detroit, Mich.—David Oppenheim. it is reported, intends erecting a $100,000 theatre on Randolph JSt
Duluth, Minn.—The Duluth School Board will open bids March 2 for the erection of two school buildings, on plans by A. 1 erryberry, and by German & Lignell, respectively. Cost of each $50,000.
Architects German & Lignell, Torrey bldg., have completed plans for the $250,000 convent for the Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict of the Roman Catholic Church. The structure will be 300 ft. long. J. F. Fredin has the contract for furnishing the stone, but the general contract has as yet not been let.
It is reported that a commission has been appointed to, have in charge the construction of a $100,000 court-house here. E. K. Coe, Duluth, Minn., is City Engineer.
East Camden, Pa.—The Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Co., of Pittsburgh, it is reported, has concluded negotiations for the purchase of a site here for the erection of a plant, to cost $500,000.
EOgewood, Pa.—C. B. Sharp, Jr., Frick bldg., Pittsburgh, will build two 4-story apartment houses in Edgewood, a suburb of Pittsburgh. Cost, $50,000. No. architect announced.
