“Basic Information” embraces such subjects as Ingredients and Processes, Gradings, Sizes, Shapes, Colors, Finishes, and Nomenclature. This book will be of value in conveying accurate and practical information regarding the production of tiles from raw materials to the last finishing process.
The tiles now made are grouped by kinds and names. The characteristics of each kind or make are given, with statements concerning grades, colors and sizes. The various shapes are illustrated. Plates of drawings, made to scale, show relative proportions and classifications.
This book is the first of a series covering a field of information regarding tiles not heretofore available in compact, concise form. Other publications, to be announced later, will cover such topics as “Basic Specifications,” “Recommended Methods,” the specific uses of tiles, etc.
