Steel Boilers
Burn Coal or Oil with
equally good results
Kewanee Boilers have established such a great reputation for efficiency in burning coal, that some folks seem to forget that a boiler that will burn coal efficiently, will burn oil with equally good results.
Go into the States where the oil comes from—California,Kansas,Oklahoma,Texas—and you’ll find they are burning oil in Kewanee Boilers, and burning it with great efficiency.
Good Circulation is Important in Burning Oil
The burning of oil produces a quick, hot fire. This means that to be efficient with oil, a boiler must have a large water content to absorb all the heat—and must also have a large, unbroken disengaging area, so that dry steam (not “soup”) gets into the mains. Ever since we started building boilers we have been “cranks” on ample water content and unbroken disengaging areas.
High Fireboxes Give Ample Mixing Space
The firebox in which oil isburned must be high, so that the gases can mix properly and completely. High fireboxes have also been ahobby of ours for morethan 30 years. Great Strength is Also Important
The sudden changes in the temperature of the firebox, caused by burning oil, naturally demand great strength. And the greatest possible strength in boiler construction is obtained by the riveted steel construction of Kewanee Boilers.
Yes—Kewanee Boilers do burn oil, economically and satisfactorily
