HE fact that a practical stagnation in building operations during the latter months of the war produced a scarcity of desirable houses and living apartments is now being demonstrated to those in search of homes. To the investing public the further fact is being demonstrated that the demand of today is for homes of individuality. Just a shelter isn’t sufficient. In this latter fact lies the architect’s opportunity to contribute to the upbuilding and improvement of this country and its citizenry. There is no doubt concerning his making the most of it.
It is a matter of some satisfaction to Sargent & Co. to know that they have been able to take an active part in the nation-wide “Build Your Own Home” movement now under way.
