Attractive in design and
built from enduring Redwood
THESE modern homes in the beautiful Country Club District of
Kansas City are designed for comfort and pleasing appearance. They are built of the most enduring wood.
Redwood was selected for the exterior for several reasons.
Redwood is not subject to any form of decay. A natural, odorless preservative permeates every fibre of Redwood during the growth of the tree and protects it against fungus diseases and against boring worms and insects. Seasoning does not destroy this preservative. Exposed to the weather or in contact with soil moisture, Redwood remains sound indefinitely.
Its uniform cell structure gives Redwood a firm, even texture that assures excellent working qualities and provides surfaces which take and hold paint unusually well.
Redwood’s freedom from resinous compounds reduces the fire hazard wherever used.
Redwood lumber and millwork can be bought at prices little higher than for wood which cannot compare with Redwood in rot-resistance, proportion of clear lumber, uniform texture or freedom from shrinking, warping or swelling.
Builders and architects will be interested in our “Construction Digest” and our “Engineering Digest”, and also in our new “Redwood Homes Booklet”. Our New York or Chicago office will gladly forward any or all of this literature.
