The Shape of the Ribs on the
Corrugated Bar Is Important T
O be of any value as reinforcement, a bar must have an absolute bond with the concrete. If the bond becomes broken, the reinforcement is useless.
The bond of a plain bar depends entirely upon the condition of the surface of the bar. Tests have shown the bond of plain bars to vary from 70 to 700 pounds per square inch, a variation of a thousand per cent.
The Corrugated Bar has a specially formed, scientifically designed surface that makes the bond positive and definite. The ribs are at right angles to the axis of the bar and bear squarely against the concrete, thereby preventing sliding and without any tendency toward splitting.
