In those four years SOTHEBY’S have sold property to the value of £14,200,000.
Last Season’s turnover, at £5,756,742 was £2,000.000 higher than that of any other fine art auction house in the World.
Of that record total American consignments were responsible for 25 percent.
It is SOTHEBY’S considered policy that our Directors (all Specialists in their own Departments) should hold the responsibility of representation abroad. The Directors frequently visit the United States and Canada, if necessary at short notice, to advise and assist our clients; Mr John Carter makes extended tours of America twice a year.
