New Tea Room at King’s Cross Station, fitted with a smokeless “Metro” Coke Fire.
ARCHITECTS can help to abolish smoke and reduce labour and heating
costs by specifying “METRO”
COKE FIRES — the one grate specially designed to burn the cheapest of solid smokeless fuels, GAS COKE. A gas burner, incorporated in the grate, ignites the coke, and in about 20 minutes, when the gas should be turned off, the coke is a glowing red-hot mass, capped by flickering flames, with all the psychological appeal of a coal fire.
The “METRO” COKE FIRE is manufactured and distributad for the South Metropolitan Gas Company by Sidney Flavel & Co., Ltd., Leamington.
