Aberdeen, Wash.—The Crescent Hotel, now 2 stories, will be made 4 stories, with a modern elevator, at a cost of about $50,- 000.
Albany, N. Y.—The Albany Homeopathic Hospital Association, it is stated, has secured a site on N. Pearl St. and contemplates erecting a building to cost about $100,000.
Atlanta, Ga.—S. M. Inman, it is. stated, is having plans prepared for a 5-story hotel, which he proposes erecting at Mitchell and Madison Aves.) at a cost of $100,000.
Morgan & Dillon, it is stated, have completed plans for the 7-story Masonic Temple which it is proposed erecting on Peachtree and Cain Sts.
In his annual message, Mayor James G. Woodward recommends to the City Council that they apply for permission to issue $500,000 bonds, with which to erect a new city hall, the question to be submitted to a vote of the people.
Atlantic, Ia.—The Business Men’s Association will secure a site on which. Mr. Hupp, of Kansas City, agrees to build a hotel and opera house, to cost $60,000.
Athens, Ala.—City has purchased site on which, it is stated, a building to be used as city dispensary, jail and city offices will be erected.
Augusta, Ga.—The erection of a new city hall, at a cost of about $200,000, is reported under consideration.
Augusta, Me.—Horace Putinton & Co., Waterville, will build the 2-story Lawrence High School for $50,000.
Auburn, Cal.—Plans are to be prepared by the Board of Supervisors for a $40,000 high school.
Austin, III.—The1 Roman Catholics of Chicago, it is stated/ are planning to erect a seminary, cathedral and other buildings in Austin as a school for the priesthood. It is reported that plans have been prepared for the seminary, which it is proposed erect-- ing at once. It is stated that about $2,000,- 000 will be the first expenditure.
Baltimore, Md.— Edward H. Glidden, architect, is making revised plans for apartment house to be erected at northeast corner Eutaw PI. and. Wilson St.; 10 stories, 130 x 141 ft.; brick with stone and terracotta trimmings.
Bancroft, Neb.—Bids will be received until Jan. 31 for the construction of a public school building. Certified check, $100. Eisentraut-Colby-Pottenger Co., Sioux City, la., architects. Delia F. Carey, secretary, Bancroft Neb.
Beaumont, Tex.—Steps will begin at once for the erection of a 3-story pressed brick structure, 215 x 100 ft., opposite the postoffice, to be built for Blanchette, Wood. Averill & Seale, owners, after plans by Architect IT. C. Mauer. The building will have a sislid glass front, it will be divided into six separate stores and will cost a little over $60,000.
Belleville, III.—It is reported that a $50,000 theatre will be erected here by I. H. Wanzelin.
Ben Lomond, Cal.—It is announced on authority that the work on the Grant Hotel,
to be erected on the site of the old Horton House, and to cost $650,000, will be begun immediately.
Berkeley, Cal.—John Galen Howard, Supervising Architect of the University of California, it is stated, is preparing plans for the University Court Hotel, a 5-story brick and terra cotta building, which it is proposed erecting on Dana St. and Allston Way.
Boise, Idaho.—Bishop Funston has purchased site for the Bishop Tuttle Memorial Hall which is to be erected by voluntary contributions.
Boston, Mass.—The Brigham Fund Trustees, it is stated, are considering erecting at once the Robert P. Brigham Hospital for Incurables, for which there is $277,184 available.
Berkeley, Cal.—Plans are now being, prepared for Enoch Morrall’s new $75,000 apartment house in Berkeley.
Architect Wm. H. Wharff, First National Bank building, is now taking figures for the erection of a ,16-classroom school building. The building is to be of brick and stone, and an addition to the 16 classrooms is to contain an assembly hall seating over 500. The amount available is $50,000.
. A. site has been secured—for. the town hall, and the, city officials will commence the erection of a -new building early next spring.
Bridgeport, Conn.—The Bridgeport Theater Co. has been incorporated, with a capital stock of $50,000. Plans for a handsome new theater, to be erected on Main St., near High St., have been prepared.
Brooklyn, N. Y.—A new theater building is being planned for Brooklyn, to be situated at Ralph Ave. and Quincy St., to cost about $250,000. Leo Teller, Broadway Theater, Brooklyn, can give information.
