BUILDING NEWS.

Albany, N. Y. — Reports state that the contract for the erection of a clubhouse for the German Hall Association, to be erected on Beaver Street, has been awarded to Collins Bros. It is to cost $110, 000.
Press reports state that two architects, Mr. Carrere, of Carrere & Hastings, New York, and Mr. George Cary, of Buffalo, have been commissioned by Governor Higgins to recommend a site for the new State Educational Building, which is to cost $4, 000, 000.
Asheville. N. C. — It is announced that the Methodist Protestant congregation has
purchased site on which to erect a new edifice. Address the pastor.
Athens, O. — Bids will be received until September II by the Board of Trustees (L. M. Jewett, Secretary), Ohio University, for furnishing material and erecting the women’s dormitory. Frank L. Packard, architect, Columbus.
Atlanta, Ga. — Gate City Terminal Company is completing arrangements, and will shortly let contract for the brick depot to be built in connection with the proposed terminals of the Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic Railroad, to be 730 feet long.
Morgan & Dillon, Prudential Building, it is stated, have prepared plans for the Ma
sonic temple, which is to be erected on Peachtree Street, at a cost of $200, 000.
Reports state that plans have been completed for the new Wells Theatre, to be
erected for the Wells Circuit, at Carnegie Way and Cone Street, at a cost of $75, 000.
Baltimore, Md. — Wyatt & Nolting, architects, Builders’ Exchange Building, have prepared tentative plans for the enlargement of the New Howard Hotel, Howard Street near Baltimore Street, by the addition of two or three stories.
The Hebrew Hospital and Asylum, northwest corner Monument Street and Hopkins Avenue, east, will erect hospital building adjoining the present building on Monument Street near Broadway; cost to be probably more than $75, 000.
Plans are being prepared for S. E. Stewart, 406 East Baltimore Street, for the erection of a warehouse to be built at 306 East Baltimore Street. It is to be a seven
story. brick and terra-cotta building, 20 × 140 feet.
