The Second Baptist Church, it is reported, will erect a settlement house on Morgan and Monroe Sts., to cost $100, 000. It will be known as the “Aunt Lizzie Aiken Memorial Institute. ”
Chippewa Falls, Wis. — Architect F. D. Orff, 615 Lumber Exchange, Minneapolis, Minn., is preparing plans for a high school building here to cost $75, 000. The building will be of brick and stone construction. b
Cincinnati, O. — It is reported that the First and Second Presbyterian churches in this city will unite and will erect an edifice to cost $150, 000.
Cleveland, O. — Two Catholic congregations here will erect new school-houses, costing $75, 000 and $100, 000, respectively, plans for which have been prepared by W. W. Hodges, architect, 757 Rose bldg.
The members of St. Martin’s R. C. Church, it is reported, will erect a parochial school at a cost of $65, 000. Rev. W. J. Horah, pastor.
J. E. Taylor, of the A. G. Harbaugh Co., it is stated, has secured a site at 802 Prospect St. and will erect an apartment house to cost $150, 000.
It is reported that the Reserve Trust Co. intends erecting a building at Superior Ave. N. E. and East 6th St., estimated to cost $500, 000. W. N. Perrin, treasurer.
Cleveland, O. — The Labor Lyceum, it is reported, is planning the erection of a building to be known as “The Labor Temple. ” No plans have been prepared.
Coleraine, Wis. — Plans by J. J. Wangenstein, architect, have been accepted for the new school building. Cost, $60, 000.
Columbia, S. C. — Shand & La Faye, architects, 1328 Main St., are receiving bids for a 3-story and basement bank building of fireproof construction; first story of granite, upper stories of brick and terra-cotta. Plans
are on file and bids will be opened by the 15th or 20th of April.
Cordele, Ga. — It is reported that Crisp County is contemplating the erection of a court-house costing about $50, 000.
Dallas, Tex. — The Columbia Club will erect a $50, 000 building. Lang & Winchell, of Dallas, are architects.
Dayton, O. — Plans are on foot for the erection of a $150, 000 city building for this city.
Deadwood, S. Dak. — It is reported that the Lawrence County Commissioners have accepted plans of Bell & Detweiler, Minneapolis, Minn., for the new court-house to be erected here. The building to be of brick and stone construction, and will cost probably $75, 000.
Denver, Colo. — Harlan & Thomas, it is stated, have prepared plans for a 3-story apartment house, which is to be erected by the Troy Investment Co. at Colfax and Grant Aves., at a cost of about $70, 000.
Architects Marean & Norton have prepared plans for a $350, 000 8-story brick and stone store and office building to be erected by the Stratton estate at 17th and Welton Sts. Building will occupy from six to eight lots. Fireproof.
The Schubert syndicate, it is reported, has closed a deal in this city whereby a theatre and office building is to be erected at a cost of about $200, 000.
F. E. Edbrooke, 510 Opera House blk., it is stated, is preparing plans for a 4-story store and office building to be erected at 15th and Welton Sts., for J. H. Drinkwater, at a cost of $150, 000.
The American Mining Congress, it is reported, is considering the erection of a $250, 000 building in this city to be used as a permanent home for the organization.
Des Moines, Ia. — Martin Flynn, president of the People’s Savings Bank, it is reported, intends rebuilding the Flynn block, at 7th and Locust Sts., into a 6-story office and business building. The cost is estimated at $100, 000.
Detroit, Mich. — George Andrew Lewis, founder of the Lewis School for Stammerers, it is reported, will erect a $50, 000 building on Adelaide St., to be used in connection with the six other large buildings belonging to the institution.
The State fair managers will spend $50, 000 for new buildings during the coming season. F. Postal, president.
St. Andrew’s Society will build a new home on Congress St., E., near Brush St. The building will be 2 stories and basement. Estimated cost, $50, 000.
Albert Kahn is preparing drawings for two new buildings for the Packard Automobile Co. The buildings will be 2 stories, built of concrete and cost $90, 000.
Dover, N. H. — The Masonic Temple was burned March 29 and will be rebuilt. Probable cost, $100, 000.
Duluth, Minn. — The members of the Endion Methodist Episcopal Church, it is stated, have decided to erect a new edifice costing $50, 000. Rev. J. W. Powell, pastor.
Durant, I. T. — Citizens’ Loan and Realty Co., recently organized with $100, 000 capital stock, will erect a 2-story brick building.
East Liverpool, O. — A $40, 000 edifice will, be erected here by the First United Presbyterian congregation.
Elkton, S. Dak. — Sealed proposals will be received at the office of E. R. Zalesky, Elkton, S. Dak., until 6 p. m., on the 24th day of April, for erecting a brick school building in this city, in accordance with plans by Architects Bell & Detweiler, Minneapolis, Minn.
Escanaba, Mich. — A committee of the School Board recommends plans by Henry Wildhagen, architect, of Ashland, Wis., for a new $150, 000 high-school.
Edmonton, Alta, Cana. — York & Secord, it is reported, are arranging to erect a $60, 000 addition to the Windsor Hotel.
