PITTSBURGH CHAPTER, A. I. A.
The drawings submitted in the architectural competition for the two prizes offered by the Pittsburgh Chapter, American Institute of Architects, for the best design for an artistic, moderate-cost dwelling house have been on exhibition at the Carnegie Institute.
These drawings were judged by a special jury composed of Henry Hornbostel, William L. Scaife, C. M. Bartberger and O. M. Topp.
The first prize of $250, in the form of a traveling scholarship which will enable the winner to travel in Eastern cities for a period of one month, was awarded to H. E. Markley. The second prize of $50 was awarded to Thomas Pringle. Honorable mention was awarded to William H. King, Jr.
PERSONAL MENTION.
Cleveland, O. — Because of the recent Supreme Court decision in the Cudell case, Auditor Madigan on April 13 approved the voucher authorizing the city treasurer to pay Architect Dyer $39, 000 on account of his City Hall design.
