Figure Panels in Pictus Sertus Mosaic
This material is an opaque glass, painted in vitreous colours and burnt in. It is a large mosaic, cut in various shaped pieces to suit the design, set in cement and bound up in iron or brass frames ready for erecting in its position, or it can be cemented direct on to the wall.
It is used for Altar Pictures, Reredoses, Figure Panels, Stations of the Cross, Memorial Tablets, etc. The colours are bright, artistic, permanent and easily kept clean. It is on the lines of Opus Sectile, only a finer detail is obtained with more variety in the colouring. Any subject can be carried out, and Messrs. Kayll and Reed will be pleased at all times to submit designs and give estimates for work required.
Picture Windows
This is a new invention by Kayll and Reed for making Stained Glass Windows to show as the ordinary Stained Glass Window during the day, but at night when the church is lighted the window shows as a picture inside. These windows are most suitable for positions facing the congregation, particularly the east window. (The process cannot be applied to windows already in).
