Several ranges of “EPIC” W. C. ’s, as shown above, have been fitted from time to time at the works of Messrs. Hans Renold, Ltd., Manchester.
This type is selected because it overcomes the nuisance of unflushed closets and stopped drains. The large permanent reserve of water provided by the patent continuous overhead trough secures a flush for every user at the busiest times during office, factory and school intervals. There are no partitions, when one flush is delivered, another cart be obtained immediately, even though the level of water in the trough has fallen. Only one or two ballcocks are required per range, a great saving in plumbing work.
It is specified by the Miners’ Welfare Committee for Pithead Baths and is being fitted at the new Bank of England. Ideal for schools, it is adopted by all the principal County Authorities in Great Britain, many thousands being in use.
